Our story is rather miraculous and entirely due to God's plan, our families support, and our deep love for one another. Though long distance was hard, a constant theme of our relationship has been "it's worth it."
We met on a December night in New Orleans, Louisiana, set up by two of our very best friends. It was the best Christmas gift we could have ever received. Not a day has gone by since, that the we have not spoken.
Months passed and though we had a 600 mile difference, Medical student's schedule and busy life of a Congressional staffer to keep us apart, every day we grew closer and closer. We knew early on that something was different about our relationship, and it was only further solidified as we became each other's best friend.
We spent weekends visiting each other's families, cheering on the Rebels and the Dawgs, touring our nation's capital, and introducing one another to our friends. Though the weekends were fun, some of our sweetest moments were shared over long phone calls and FaceTimes, when the reality of long distance showed its teeth.
Throughout the summer of 2023, we were able to meet each other's families and spend some time together in our happy places, Nantucket, MA and Cashiers, NC. It was over those warm and jovial months that we came to realize the depth of our love for one another.
One cool fall morning in Dallas, Texas, we confessed our love for one another in the back of the Hodges family home. It was in that very place almost a year later that we would get engaged.
And it is in that same town that we will get married on May 24th, 2025. Thank you for all of the love and support you have shown us. It is in fact, all worth it!
